There's no doubt that the group has made its mark by now on the collegiate a cappella scene. Since its 1989 creation, the group has seen some amazing musicians and phenomenal arrangements.
Over the years, many young men have experienced the comraderie and brotherhood that the group fosters. Like any sports team, being in the group is no free ticket. It takes a lot of hard work starting the moment a young man decides to try out. There's the rigorous audition process, the weeklong 10-hour/day rehearsal sessions at Camp Limestone, the 3+ rehearsals/week during St. Olaf's demanding school year, all on top of just trying to be a normal college student. It takes hard work, leadership, understanding, and most of all, love. Love for the music, love for the fans, love for the gifts we've been given.
Also like any team, the group has seen its fair share of ups and downs, not including the yearly turn-over of singers - which always seems too soon.
The Limestones have always taken responsibility in both the St. Olaf and Northfield communities. Maybe it's our Minnesotan upbringing or our St. Olaf schooling, but there's definitely something in the water. From benefits to high school clinics - or even bowling with our many lovely fans - there's no better feeling than giving back to the community.
